Are you a Teaching Assistant experienced in supporting students with Autism? If you've worked with children with ASC professionally or have experience with Autism in your personal life, I'm keen to hear from you.

This OFSTED rated Good Primary school in Ealing is looking for Teaching Assistants to start in October and continue for the full academic year. The right Teaching Assistant for this role will be confident to work with students with Autism and support students to work with the national curriculum.

The Teaching Assistant will be based within the new ARP that has opened on the main primary site in Ealing. Working with a class of 13 students in Key Stage 2, you will work with the class teacher and provide 1:1 and group interventions. All students are academically able and working towards achieving their academic goals for the year. For one lesson each week students integrate into mainstream classes with their KS2 peers and the Teaching Assistant would provide 1:1 support in these lessons. There is no challenging behaviour in this class, but experience supporting students with Autism to de-escalate when feeling overwhelmed will be helpful in this role.

The school will provide support and each student's EHCP which outlines their development goals for the year as well as key obstacles to their learning. Pupils are taught in small groups for math and literacy with 1:1 support provided where needed. The ARP consists of classes from EYF-KS2, all with their own calm areas, daily living skills room, multisensory room and the ARP has a dedicated outdoor play area.

The school draws on a wide range of approaches to support students including PECS, Makaton, Team Teach and Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). There is a strong culture of support and promoting independence in students as they develop. All staff nurture resilience, social skills and confidence in students with regular community outings to develop living skills as well as regular integration with mainstream classes and peers.

The Teaching Assistant:
*Is experienced with Autism
*Has experience working in school settings
*Confident providing 1:1 support and facilitating small groups
*Experienced working with Primary school children and with the national curriculum
*Aware of PECS, Makaton, ABA and Team Teach strategies (desired but not essential)

The school has:
*Pupils aged 3 - 11 years of age
*A capacity for 21 students in the ARP and 470 across the wider school
*An ARP dedicated to supporting students with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties
