Tradewind are currently recruiting for a hardworking and organised Welfare Officer to work in one of our secondary schools in Borehamwood. The role is a permanent post, starting in September (or sooner) in a fantastic new school building at a well respected secondary school in the heart of the local community.

Rated "Good" by Ofsted, the school moved into their purpose-built new academy in September last year. Teaching staff assisting architects with the design of the new school building, as a result the school has a bright, open planned feel with numerous spaces for outdoor learning and a modern and well laid out building with superb facilities. Located a short walk from the train Station (Borehamwood), with free staff parking this is a great school for a Welfare Officer looking for their next career move.

Responsible for the overall management for students medical welfare needs. Liaising with external agencies, middle leaders and parents this is a leadership role within the academies first aid team. The school team work on a collaborative basis under the direction of a well established and long serving SLT team creating a happy and supportive environment. As a result of the positive working conditions and work life balance turnover of staff at the school is low.
As the schools Welfare Officer you're be responsible for RIDDOR reporting and healthcare plans the ability to work across departments and external teams is essential.
Required Qualifications:-
-First Aid at work
-Paediatric first aid
-Managing Medication in Education

Upon visiting the school I was really impressed with the modern design, layout and atmosphere created by the open learning spaces, approachable staff team and polite pupils. Staff within the school are well looked after and the school offers consistent and professional approaches to staff development and pupil behaviour.
