Job Title: Year 1 Teacher

Location: Havering, London

Start Date: April 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen at an expanding four-form entry primary school in Havering! They are looking for a full-time Year 1 Teacher to cover Maternity from April 2024 to January 2025 who is passionate about teaching children, helping them to foster a love for learning and inspiring young minds. This post will commence after Easter holidays. Due to the long-term nature of the post, pay rates between £188 - £244 will be on offer.

ECTs as well as experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Year 1 students.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and collaboration.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to ensure a supportive home-school partnership.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in EYFS or Key Stage 1.
• Experience planning towards Phonics schemes and delivering learning, such as Jolly Phonics and Read, Write, Inc
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and proficiency in planning and delivering high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum objectives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Enthusiasm for professional development and a willingness to engage in ongoing learning.
