Position: Year 5 Teaching Assistant

Location: Nottingham City

Hours: Full-time 8.30am-4pm

Start Date: April 2024

Are you passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of young learners? We are recruiting on behalf of a Primary Academy that are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team and support Year 5 students in their educational journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small group support to Year 5 students in various subjects, including English, Math, Science, and more.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support students with special educational needs or those requiring additional help.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with Year 5 students.
  • Knowledge of the primary school curriculum and educational strategies.
  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs.
