Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary Schools - Newham - September Start

Are you a Psychology graduate passionate about supporting the mental health and educational development of young people? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school setting before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, or mental health services?

We are seeking Psychology graduates to work as Graduate Teaching Assistants across a range of secondary schools in Newham this September.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with additional learning needs, behavioural challenges, or emotional needs

  • Working closely with the SEN (Special Educational Needs) department and pastoral teams

  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions

  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and behaviour support strategies

  • Gaining valuable experience for careers in education, child psychology, or therapy

Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field

  • A genuine interest in working with young people, particularly those with additional needs

  • Excellent communication, patience, and empathy

  • Experience in mentoring, youth work, or SEN support is highly desirable

Location: Secondary schools across Newham
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, term time only
