Secondary teacher

Are you a confident and adaptable teacher looking for a unique opportunity to make a difference? We are currently recruiting a full-time teacher for a hospital school based in Beckenham. This is a maternity cover role starting in early September 2025, with the end date to be confirmed.

About the Role:
This position is ideal for a dedicated secondary teacher who can deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be part of a small, supportive team within a specialist setting that caters to pupils unable to attend mainstream school due to medical needs. Teaching may occasionally take place on hospital wards, so flexibility and confidence in different learning environments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the KS3 curriculum, with a focus on Science, English, General Science, and PSHE
  • Teach across both classroom and ward-based settings (as required)
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet a variety of individual needs
  • Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science and English
  • Adaptable, empathetic, and resilient personality
  • Previous experience in alternative provisions or SEND is advantageous but not essential
