Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School, Lewisham
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Until End of Academic Year)
Location: Lewisham, London
Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience

We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This full-time role is available for an immediate start and will continue through to the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality learning experiences to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of tailored interventions to meet individual student needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with SEND.

  • Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.

  • Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of pupils' progress.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to support the school's inclusive ethos.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is essential.

  • A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A proactive, flexible, and patient approach to supporting learning.

  • A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
