Science Lab Technician - Secondary School - Waltham Forest
📍 Location: Waltham Forest, East London
🕒 Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only
💰 Pay: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience)
Dynamic and well-resourced secondary schools in Waltham Forest are seeking aScience Technicians to support the smooth running of its busy science department. If you enjoy practical work, have a good understanding of lab environments, and want to work in education, this could be an excellent fit.
You'll work alongside teaching staff to help prepare resources, maintain equipment, and support students during experiments.
Duties Include:
- Setting up practicals for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons
- Monitoring equipment, ordering stock, and ensuring safety procedures
- Supporting classroom experiments and supervising safe use of materials
- Maintaining a clean and organised lab environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Background in science (A-level or degree preferred)
- Experience in a lab setting or school environment (not essential)
- Organised, reliable and confident handling scientific materials
- Awareness of COSHH/CLEAPSS is a bonus (training provided)
