Art Teacher (Maternity Cover - 1 Term) KS3 and KS4
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: Competitive - aligned with the Teacher's Main / Upper Pay Scale (Fringe Area), depending on experience
Contract Type: Fixed-term (1 Term - Maternity Cover)
Start Date: 1st September 2025

Are you a creative and committed Art Teacher looking to make a real impact in a unique and supportive setting? We're seeking an enthusiastic educator to cover maternity leave for one term at our Alternative Provision School in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

About the School

Our nurturing school supports up to 60 students through personalised education plans designed to meet individual needs. With class sizes capped at 8 students, we provide a calm, focused environment where relationships matter and creativity thrives. Art plays a central role in our curriculum, helping students to build confidence, express themselves, and achieve qualifications up to GCSE level.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Art lessons tailored to the needs of small groups

  • Support students in exploring a range of artistic techniques and processes

  • Assess progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning plans

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families

  • Contribute to a collaborative, student-centred learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Art or a related subject

  • QTS is preferred, but applications from experienced Art educators are welcome

  • Experience teaching Art at GCSE level

  • Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills

  • A genuine passion for working with young people with diverse and additional needs
