Tradewind Recruitment / SANZA Teaching Agency is working in partnership with a number of high-achieving secondary schools in the London Borough of Ealing to recruit (Biology) Science Technicians for the new academic year. These are exciting opportunities to contribute to engaging science teaching by supporting the day-to-day running of busy school laboratories.
About the Role
As a (Biology) Science Technicians, you will work as part of a dedicated science faculty, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely. You will be instrumental in supporting both teachers and students through the preparation of experiments, maintenance of equipment, and upholding of rigorous health and safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing a range of biological specimens, solutions, and apparatus for KS3-KS5 practical work.
- Supporting class experiments and demonstrations under the guidance of science teachers.
- Ensuring labs are clean, safe, and fully resourced at all times.
- Maintaining inventory records, organising resources, and checking stock levels.
- Ensuring the proper storage and disposal of biological materials and chemicals.
- Adhering to COSHH and other relevant safety protocols.
- Assisting with the preparation of classroom displays and student coursework materials.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants who are:
- Biology graduates or individuals with a strong academic background in a biological science.
- Previous experience working in a school science lab or similar environment is advantageous but not essential - full training can be provided.
- Confident in handling lab equipment and following safety procedures.
- Organised, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Genuinely enthusiastic about science education and supporting young learners.
