Tradewind Recruitment / SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a variety of forward-thinking secondary schools in the London Borough of Ealing to recruit Science Technicians (Chemistry) for the upcoming academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to support engaging, hands-on science learning by ensuring labs are well-resourced, safe, and inspiring.

About the Role

Science Technicians (Chemistry), you'll play a vital role in the smooth running of the science department, preparing materials and ensuring that teachers and students have everything they need for impactful practical work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and organising chemical solutions, reagents, glassware, and equipment for Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 lessons.
  • Assisting with in-class experiments and demonstrations under teacher supervision.
  • Managing chemical stock levels, lab equipment, and ensuring safe storage and handling of substances.
  • Maintaining clean, hazard-free laboratory environments in line with health and safety standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations and school policies.
  • Supporting students and staff by providing technical advice and assisting with risk assessments where necessary.
  • Helping create engaging displays and maintaining resources for practical coursework.

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Hold a degree in Chemistry or a closely related science field.
  • Have prior experience in a school science lab or commercial lab (desirable, not essential - training can be provided).
  • Possess strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Are confident in handling chemicals and following strict safety protocols.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Are passionate about education and excited to support young people's learning.
