Food Technician - Wandsworth - Start ASAP or September 2025
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a proactive and organised Food Technician to join Secondary schools in Wandsworth. This full-time, term-time-only position is ideal for someone with experience or interest in food preparation and a passion for supporting students in a creative, hands-on learning environment.
As a Food Technician, you'll work closely with the Design & Technology (D&T) department, primarily supporting food technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your role will involve prepping ingredients, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen space, and helping students during practical cooking sessions.
Whether you're an experienced Food Technician or have transferable skills from catering, hospitality, or food science, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients and equipment for food technology lessons
Support students and staff during practical cooking sessions
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety
Manage stock levels, place orders, and ensure proper food storage
Requirements:
Experience or interest in food preparation, catering, or hospitality
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
