These are full-time, long-term roles, ideal for someone with experience in a workshop or technical support setting, particularly within schools or colleges.

As a DT Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the DT department, helping prepare materials and equipment, maintaining machinery, and assisting both staff and students during lessons.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring machinery and tools are properly maintained and meet health & safety standards

  • Supporting teachers during practical lessons and helping students use tools safely and effectively

  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and maintaining a tidy and well-organised workshop

  • Following school policies for health, safety, and safeguarding at all times

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Have previous experience in a workshop, engineering, or DT environment (school-based experience is a plus)

  • Are confident using tools and machinery such as saws, drills, and 3D printers (training can be provided if needed)

  • Understand the importance of safety and are happy to take responsibility for maintaining a safe workspace

  • Are organised, reliable, and enjoy supporting young learners in a creative, practical subject

  • Have good communication skills and can work well as part of a team

What's in it for you:

  • A long-term, stable role in a friendly and creative school environment

  • Weekly pay with competitive rates

  • Free CPD and training opportunities via The National College

  • Ongoing support from your local Tradewind consultant

  • A chance to be part of a department that helps students learn real-world, hands-on skills

If you're practical, safety-conscious, and ready to support Design & Technology education in a rewarding school role, we'd love to hear from you.
