1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - EYFS (September Start, Full-Time)

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hrs/week, Mon-Fri)

The Role

  • Provide dedicated, personalised support on a 1:1 basis to a child with special educational needs within our EYFS class.
  • Assist the EYFS teacher in delivering high-quality, inclusive early years learning experiences in both group and independent settings.
  • Help build a safe, welcoming environment, including setting up stimulating continuous provision and leading focused interventions (e.g., phonics, speech & language).
  • Contribute to observations, assessments, and planning next steps in partnership with EYFS staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teacher, parents, and outside professionals to support the pupil's progress.
  • Support routines, personal care, mealtimes, behaviour strategies, and wellbeing in line with our EYFS framework.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 2 (or above) qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or similar), or equivalent experience in an EYFS setting
  • Experience working 1:1 with children with additional needs (SEN/SEND).
  • Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and child development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to establish nurturing relationships.
  • Patience, flexibility, empathy, and a positive, child-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, liaising with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
