Our trusted education supply agency is looking for committed and skilled Behaviour Mentors to support students in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Manchester.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with vulnerable pupils who may be excluded from mainstream education, helping them manage their behaviour, build positive relationships, and engage with learning.

You'll provide consistent, positive support, assist in behaviour management, and work alongside teaching staff and external agencies to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Experience working in PRUs, alternative provisions, or similar settings

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed practice

  • The ability to build rapport quickly and de-escalate challenging situations

  • Patience, resilience, and a calm, empathetic approach

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Team Teach or equivalent positive handling training

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Experience supporting SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs

  • Understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks (e.g. EHCPs)
