1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School, Bolton (Full‑time, September Start)


Contract Details

  • Full-time: Monday-Friday, 32.5-37 hrs/week, term-time + 5 inset days
  • Start Date: September 2025 (maternity cover/permanent option)

Role Overview
You will work 1:1 with a pupil with SEN-potentially ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech/language needs or sensory challenges-to:

  • Clarify instructions and support access to learning, both in-class and during interventions
  • Implement behaviour and communication strategies
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, parents, and external professionals
  • Prepare and adapt resources to fit individual learning plans

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in 1:1 or small‑group SEN support in a primary setting
  • Strong understanding of behaviour strategies, ASC, SEMH, or language-based needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills-able to liaise with staff, parents, and the SENCO
  • Suitable qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, CACHE, or equivalent), plus a full DBS or willingness to obtain one
