Do you have a strong background in student welfare and pastoral care? A secondary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join their team this September.
About the Role:
The Pastoral Support Officer will work closely with Heads of Year and the Safeguarding Team to support students' wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement in school. You will act as a key point of contact for students needing pastoral support and help ensure they can thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral support to students, addressing welfare and behavioural issues.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate.
- Support whole-school initiatives to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
- Keep accurate records and monitor student progress.
- Assist in safeguarding duties where required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a pastoral or student welfare role within a school.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and empathy.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
