KS1 Teaching Assistant - Brent
Location: Brent, North West London
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £90-£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Role: KS1 General Teaching Assistant (Year 2 Support)
This school has a strong community ethos and a dedicated focus on early literacy, inclusion, and holistic development. As a Teaching Assistant in the Year 2 team, you will play a vital role in supporting both the teacher and pupils, helping children achieve their best across the curriculum.
About the Role
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for a mixed-ability Year 2 class.
- Leading small group sessions in phonics, early maths, and reading interventions.
- Working with individual pupils, including those with mild SEND or EAL, to support progress and inclusion.
- Helping manage classroom routines, prepare resources, and contribute to classroom displays and learning areas.
- Supporting positive behaviour management using the school's well-established systems.
- Participating in staff training and contributing to the wider school life and ethos.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in KS1.
- Sound understanding of early phonics, literacy and numeracy support strategies.
- A calm, nurturing, and professional demeanour.
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and SENCOs.
- A genuine interest in primary education and the development of young children.
- Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (preferred but not essential).
