Learning Support Assistant - Northampton

We're working in partnership with inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Northampton, all seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their teams from September 2025. This is an ideal opportunity if you have a genuine interest in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and want to make a meaningful impact in their education journey.

Whether you have previous experience or are looking to start your career in education, this role offers valuable, hands-on experience in a classroom setting.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support to students with additional needs

  • Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities and classroom tasks

  • Supporting students with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social-emotional challenges

  • Encouraging student participation, independence, and confidence

  • Helping manage behaviour positively and professionally

  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is passionate about working with young people, particularly those with SEN

  • Has a patient, empathetic, and calm approach to support

  • Communicates clearly and confidently with students and staff

  • Is reliable, flexible, and able to work well as part of a team

  • Has experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)

  • Is committed to learning and growing within a school environment
