Job Description
We are recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to support students at a thriving secondary school in Haringey. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you'll work closely with students who need help managing their behaviour, building positive relationships, and engaging in school life. You'll play a vital role in improving attendance, classroom behaviour, and student confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour mentoring to secondary school students
- Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and the pastoral team to implement behaviour support plans
- Monitor progress and help create a positive, respectful learning environment
- Act as a role model and trusted adult for students who need additional support
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g. in schools, youth work, or mentoring)
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations
- Excellent communication, resilience, and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and a desire to support young people to succeed
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
