Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and inspiring Health & Social Care Teacher to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bethnal Green. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator passionate about vocational learning, preparing young people for future careers and pathways in health, care, and social services.
About the role:
Deliver BTEC and/or GCSE Health & Social Care to Key Stage 4 learners in small class settings.
Create lessons that combine theory with practical, real-world applications to keep learners engaged and motivated.
Develop personalised resources and schemes of work to support students working at different levels and abilities.
Equip students with transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, preparing them for post-16 education or vocational training.
Work closely with pastoral staff to address barriers to learning, including behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing.
Contribute to personalised learning plans and progress tracking in line with student EHCPs and PRU targets.
What we are looking for:
QTS/QTLS (applications from FE/college teachers with strong subject knowledge will also be considered).
Strong subject knowledge in Health & Social Care, ideally with BTEC or GCSE delivery experience.
An understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to adapt teaching approaches for learners who may have experienced disrupted education.
