SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School, Newham
We are looking for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives by working within the school's Bridge Department, which supports young people with a range of special educational needs.
The Role:
Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN
Assisting in the development of learning resources and adapted activities
Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to support individual learning plans
Promoting independence, confidence, and inclusion within the classroom
Supporting students' social and emotional development alongside their academic progress
Requirements:
Previous SEN support experience is essential (ideally within a secondary setting)
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with young people
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to individual student needs
