Finance Assistant - School-Based - Northampton

Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term (Full-Time)

Are you a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant looking to bring your skills to a dynamic and rewarding educational environment? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded school in Northampton, who are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their administrative team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with school-based finance experience - or similar - who is looking for a varied and fulfilling role within a supportive and professional setting. You'll be working alongside a skilled business and admin team to help ensure the smooth day-to-day financial operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of school budgets

  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, and payments

  • Managing petty cash, staff expenses, and reconciliations

  • Supporting payroll processes and liaising with external providers

  • Assisting with monthly and year-end financial reporting

  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience in a finance or school office role (SIMS/FMS/PS Financials knowledge desirable)

  • A strong understanding of financial procedures and systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A friendly, professional manner with good communication skills
