Pastoral Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision - Burnley

An inclusive and supportive Alternative Provision in Burnley is seeking a Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of pupils who require additional support to succeed in their education.
The Role:
- Providing pastoral and emotional support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- Supporting with daily routines, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for each student
- Creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel valued and understood
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties or within an Alternative Provision or similar setting
- A calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for pastoral care and inclusive education
- Team Teach, MAPA or similar training (desirable but not essential)
