Pastoral Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision - Burnley

An inclusive and supportive Alternative Provision in Burnley is seeking a Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of pupils who require additional support to succeed in their education.

The Role:

Providing pastoral and emotional support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
Supporting with daily routines, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for each student
Creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel valued and understood

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties or within an Alternative Provision or similar setting
A calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for pastoral care and inclusive education
Team Teach, MAPA or similar training (desirable but not essential)
