SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to present an outstanding youth mentor opportunity at a dedicated secondary school in Wandsworth supporting 15-16 year old pupils facing social and academic difficulties with ADHD or mild ASC. Providing £90-£110 daily based on qualifications with salary review at October half-term!

We're seeking a committed, enthusiastic youth mentor and/or TA for this alternative provision school helping students who thrive with motivational role models.

POSITION OVERVIEW This youth mentor role provides both rewards and fulfilment. Your duties include:

  • Supporting young people with (SEMH) social, emotional, mental health needs in small classes of 8 pupils
  • Working as a youth support worker for KS4 pupils who love football and respond well to reliable, consistent role models
  • Providing educational support and personal guidance within this alternative provision environment
  • Building positive connections while offering TA support to students facing personal challenges
  • Helping young people overcome barriers and engage with education despite their difficulties
  • Using youth support worker skills to assist students in managing complex situations and academic development
  • Contributing to positive change in this specialised educational setting

PERFECT CANDIDATE We're seeking a dedicated behaviour mentor, TA or graduate with genuine passion for supporting young people from difficult backgrounds with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs handling challenging circumstances.

Beneficial experience or qualities (youth mentor experience not essential for candidates with suitable attitude and character):

  • Background as a TA (Teaching Assistant), youth support worker, youth mentor or in personal care - particularly in alternative provision or PRU settings
  • Love for FOOTBALL is great to connect with the students
  • Understanding of social, emotional, mental health issues affecting young people
  • Proven behaviour management strategies suitable for SEMH pupils in demanding environments
  • Firm yet compassionate approach when working with challenging students - maintaining high standards
  • Experience in SEN environments, or providing personal care ideally Wandsworth or Lambeth based
  • Team Teach certification beneficial for handling difficult situations
  • Background in Education and Training or social care sector
