SEND Teacher - Wellingborough

About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment seeks a experienced SEND Teacher to lead teaching provisions for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities. You will design, implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs/EHCPs), work closely with teaching assistants and support staff, liaise with parents and external services, and adapt the curriculum to meet a range of needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‐quality, differentiated teaching for pupils with SEND.
- Lead the assessment, tracking and review of Individual Education Plans / EHCPs.
- Work in collaboration with the SENDCo, SLT, external professionals (therapists, health etc.).
- Provide specialist interventions and support programmes.
- Mentor and support TAs and other staff working with SEND pupils.
- Promote inclusion; ensure pupils are fully included in all aspects of school life.
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure accessibility.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching pupils with a range of SEND needs.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, EHCP process, SEND Code of Practice.
- Ability to differentiate teaching effectively.
- Strong communication skills with pupils, parents, colleagues.
- Commitment to inclusive education; patient, flexible, resourceful.
