We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the Middleton area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils with a range of needs, including those displaying challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in ensuring every child can access the curriculum and thrive in a safe, supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, including those with behavioural needs.

  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive behaviour strategies.

  • Support the delivery of tailored learning activities in line with the curriculum.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.

  • Monitor and report on student progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (TA) in a primary school setting is essential.

  • Confident and calm when supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.

  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

  • Team Teach or similar behaviour management training.

  • Experience working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
