Job Description
Teach. Connect. Transform - Shaping Futures Every Day
Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a number of exceptional specialist schools in Lincoln and the surrounding area, where education is about empowering every student to thrive, not just academically, but socially and emotionally.
We're seeking a dedicated and dynamic KS3 SEN Teacher to support students aged 11-19 with a range of learning disabilities and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication difficulties, and associated social and emotional challenges. These students require a teacher who can provide structure, creativity, patience and above all, belief in their potential.
If you're passionate about inclusive education and driven to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable learners, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
The Role - Teaching That Transforms Lives
As a Key Stage 3 SEN Teacher, you will be central in creating a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment where young people with complex needs can develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Adapted Teaching: Plan and deliver highly differentiated, accessible lessons across the KS3 curriculum-often with a thematic or life-skills-based approach to engage learners at a wide range of cognitive levels.
Student Relationships: Build strong, trusting connections with students to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and consistent engagement in learning.
Specialist Strategies: Use evidence-informed methods such as TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, and sensory integration to meet communication and regulation needs.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists, SENCOs and families to ensure a cohesive, student-centred support system.
Progress Tracking: Write and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), contribute to EHCP reviews, and track progress in academic, emotional and social domains.
Celebrating Growth: Recognise and celebrate every achievement-academic or personal, helping students overcome challenges with encouragement and creativity.
