You'll work as part of a supportive and experienced team, helping young people aged 11-16 who face challenges such as behavioural difficulties, emotional needs, or disrupted education histories.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Helping young people build self-esteem, manage their behaviour, and make progress with learning

  • Assisting teaching staff with behaviour management, classroom routines, and learning activities

  • Learning strategies for de-escalation, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed support

  • Taking part in structured training to complete your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Building positive, consistent relationships with students, staff, and support teams

Who This Role is For:

  • Individuals who are calm, patient, and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting young people

  • School leavers, college leavers, or career changers looking to enter education, care, or youth work

  • People who want to work with students with complex needs, especially those excluded from school

  • Applicants with strong communication skills, a non-judgemental attitude, and a willingness to learn

  • Candidates who hold (or are willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS check

What You'll Gain:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship qualification - fully funded while you earn

  • Daily hands-on experience supporting students in a highly specialist school setting

  • Weekly pay and access to staff benefits during your apprenticeship

  • Full support from in-school mentors and a professional training provider

  • Access to over 2,500 online training courses via Tradewind's National College CPD platform

  • Clear progression into full-time roles in education, SEND, SEMH support, youth work, or mentoring

This is more than just an apprenticeship - it's a chance to build your career while helping young people who need positive role models and consistent support.

If you're ready to take the first step into education, apply today to join a dedicated team in an Alternative Provision in Wellingborough from October 2025.
