Year 5 Primary Teacher

Croydon | From October Half Term 2025
Full-Time | Until April 2026 (with possible extension to July)
Paid to scale | Outer London MPS; depending on experience

Are you an inspiring and confident KS2 Primary Teacher looking for a fulfilling role in a welcoming, well-led school? We are recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and supportive primary school in Croydon seeking a Year 5 Teacher to cover maternity leave from October half term 2025, continuing until April 2026, with potential to extend to July.

This is a full-time class teacher role - perfect for an experienced teacher or a strong ECT looking to gain valuable experience in a stable, structured setting.

👩‍🏫 The Role:

  • Full class teacher responsibility for a Year 5 class

  • Planning is shared across the year group - you'll be well supported

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Use formative and summative assessment to track and support pupil progress

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management

  • Attend staff meetings, parent evenings, and contribute to the wider school community

✅ What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified Primary Teacher with QTS (UK or equivalent)

  • Strong experience in Key Stage 2 - Year 5 experience desirable but not essential

  • Confident in delivering high-quality teaching with excellent classroom management

  • Enthusiastic, organised and committed to making a positive impact
