SEN Teaching Assistant - Greenwich

Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term | Mainstream Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich. This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately - ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) in a mainstream setting.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the school's SENCO and teaching staff to provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. You'll help to create a positive, engaging learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional learning needs

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored strategies and interventions

  • Foster independence and confidence in learners

  • Promote inclusion and ensure all students have equal access to learning

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people (essential)

  • Experience working with SEND, ideally in a school or similar environment

  • A patient, adaptable and proactive approach

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
