Job Title: Learning Mentor
Location: Hillingdon, West London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £95 - £125 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a compassionate and resilient Learning Mentor to join a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Hillingdon from January 2026.

This highly supportive PRU works with pupils aged 5-11 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Many students have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, autism, or display challenging behaviour. The school's dedicated staff team foster a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment where pupils can rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships, and make progress in both learning and behaviour.

Your Role:

  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs.

  • Assisting with behaviour management, using restorative and positive approaches.

  • Helping children to build social skills, emotional resilience, and self-esteem.

  • Supporting teachers with personalised learning and tailored interventions.

  • Promoting a safe, calm, and engaging classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a PRU, SEMH school, or another SEND setting.

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic manner with strong behaviour management skills.

  • A genuine passion for helping young learners overcome barriers to education.

  • Team Teach or equivalent training (desirable, but not essential).

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
