Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £95 - £125 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a highly supportive Secondary SEMH School in Brent from January 2026.
This welcoming school provides a structured, nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism (ASD), ADHD and other behavioural challenges. The staff team work collaboratively to help students re-engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve both academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering tailored 1:1 and small group interventions for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Supporting pupils to manage emotions and behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
De-escalating challenging situations calmly and effectively, promoting positive outcomes.
Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to deliver individual learning and behaviour plans.
Acting as a positive role model, encouraging self-belief and personal growth.
About You
Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour, ideally in a PRU, SEMH or SEND setting.
Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
A calm, patient and empathetic approach with the ability to build positive relationships.
Relevant qualifications in education or youth work (Level 2 or 3 preferred).
Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent behaviour management training is highly advantageous.
