SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (Barking & Dagenham)

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming team at a thriving secondary school in Barking & Dagenham. This is a long-term, full-time position starting immediately after the October half term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties).

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver engaging, accessible learning.

  • Support behaviour, emotional well-being, and inclusion across the school.

  • Help create a positive and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN (in a school or similar setting).

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
