Academic Tutor - Wellingborough Area
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Part-Time or Full-Time | Flexible Hours
Pay: £20-£30 per hour (depending on experience and subject specialism)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting passionate and experienced Tutors to support students across the Wellingborough area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to young people who require additional academic support outside of the traditional classroom setting.

About the Role:

As a Tutor, you will work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping to close learning gaps in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science. These sessions may take place in local schools, libraries, or students' homes-or be delivered online.

Students may include:

  • Pupils with gaps in learning due to absence or transitions

  • Young people with SEND or EHCPs needing tailored support

  • Children in care or excluded from mainstream education

  • Learners preparing for exams (GCSE/Functional Skills)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised tuition sessions

  • Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly

  • Collaborate with schools, parents, or carers to monitor engagement

  • Maintain accurate records of sessions and outcomes

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring young people (QTS/QTLS desirable, but not essential)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English or Science (KS2-KS4)

  • A patient, flexible and supportive approach to learning

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Access to transport if working across different locations
