Sport Mentor - Alternative Provision (Blackpool)
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Job Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only
Start Date: Monday, 3rd November 2025
Salary: £104.89 - £138.47 per day
Are you passionate about using sport to positively impact young people in alternative education settings?
We are seeking a motivated and resilient Sport Mentor to work within an Alternative Provision in Blackpool, supporting pupils who face barriers to mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning through physical activity and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured sports and physical activity sessions tailored to individual needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support personal development
- Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies
- Support pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in alternative or SEN settings (preferred)
- Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills
- Sports coaching qualifications or relevant experience
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
