Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a thriving secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent, seeking an enthusiastic Science specialist to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons and helping students develop a lifelong interest in science.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science, with the potential to teach up to GCSE level in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics depending on specialism and experience. You will be expected to plan and deliver creative and well-structured lessons that challenge and inspire pupils of all abilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons across the Science curriculum.

  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of students.

  • Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and engagement.

  • Working collaboratively with departmental colleagues to share best practice and develop resources.

  • Participating in extracurricular activities and contributing to the wider life of the school.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Have recent experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting.

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young learners.

  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.
