Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a School Administrator to join a well-established secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is committed to supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy school office.

About the Role

As the School Administrator, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the school's leadership and teaching teams. You will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies, helping to ensure that the school office operates efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the school's reception area, greeting visitors and handling telephone and email enquiries.

  • Maintaining accurate records on the school's management information system (SIMS or similar).

  • Supporting the preparation of correspondence, reports, and school communications.

  • Assisting with student attendance, admissions, and pupil data management.

  • Providing general administrative support to teaching and senior staff, including photocopying, filing, and document preparation.

  • Upholding confidentiality and safeguarding procedures at all times.

This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit someone with strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have previous experience working in an administrative role, ideally within a school or educational setting.

  • Be confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor.

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Have a professional and approachable manner when dealing with staff, students, and visitors.

  • Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.
