Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced classroom supervisors who are eager to make a positive impact on young people's education.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher. Your role is to ensure that students remain focused, engaged, and productive during their lessons, maintaining a calm and positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising classes during short-term teacher absences.

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.

  • Distributing and collecting resources and materials as required.

  • Supporting students with their learning, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have experience working with young people, ideally within an educational or youth setting.

  • Possess strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • Be adaptable, reliable, and confident in leading groups of students.

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential).

  • Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.
