Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs? A welcoming secondary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.
About the Role:
As an SEN TA, you'll work closely with the SENCo and classroom teachers to provide tailored support to students with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to SEN students.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies.
- Monitor and record student progress for SEN reviews.
- Promote inclusion and positive engagement across the school.
Requirements:
- Previous SEN experience in a school or youth setting (desirable).
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
