Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Brent - ASAP Start

Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain hands-on experience working with children and young people before pursuing a career as an Educational Psychologist?

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a fantastic secondary school in Brent seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This is a full-time, long-term position (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm), ideal for graduates passionate about child development, special educational needs (SEN), and mental health support.


Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview

  • Support students with additional learning needs such as autism, ADHD, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) difficulties.

  • Work closely with the SENCO, Educational Psychologist, and Pastoral Team to deliver targeted interventions.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students develop academically and emotionally.

  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment.

  • Support students' emotional wellbeing and social development using positive behaviour and restorative approaches.

  • Gain valuable experience relevant to educational psychology, SEN support, or teacher training.


Requirements

  • A recent Psychology graduate (or closely related subject).

  • Genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs.

  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
