We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive team in Newham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in promoting a positive learning culture and ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corridor Supervision: Maintaining a calm and orderly environment during transitions and break times, promoting positive behaviour around the school.

  • On-Call Support: Responding promptly to behaviour incidents, providing de-escalation and restorative support to help students re-engage with learning.

  • Exclusion Unit Support: Working closely with pupils in the inclusion/exclusion unit, delivering mentoring and reflection sessions to help them modify behaviour and reintegrate successfully into lessons.

  • Mentoring and Guidance: Building trusted relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and offering daily pastoral support.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with Heads of Year, pastoral leads, and teaching staff to support the school's behaviour and inclusion strategies.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with secondary-aged students in a school or youth work setting.

  • Be calm, consistent, and approachable, with strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Be passionate about inclusion, equality, and helping young people overcome barriers to success.

  • Be a team player with a proactive attitude and a sense of humour!
