Cover Supervisor in Secondary schools

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a busy and supportive secondary school in Newham on a temporary contract from January to July. This role is perfect for a reliable, organised professional who can oversee lessons and maintain high standards of student behaviour in the absence of teaching staff.

About the Role:

Start date: January - July

Salary: London scale (MPS/UPS equivalent for cover supervisors)

Key responsibilities:

Supervise classes during teacher absences across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Ensure students remain on task and engaged in learning.

Follow lesson plans and support students with their work as needed.

Maintain classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour.

Qualifications and Person Specification:

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Cover Supervisor who:

Has experience working in a school environment.

Can manage and motivate students effectively.

Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.

Is flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to different classroom situations.

Works collaboratively with school staff and contributes to a positive learning environment.
