Design & Technology (Food) Teacher - January Start - Uxbridge, London

A dynamic and high-achieving secondary school based in Uxbridge is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Food Technology Teacher to join their thriving Design & Technology department from January on a long-term basis. This is a full-time position, though the school would consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate. Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, and the role is paid in line with Outer London MPS/UPS pay scales. Role Responsibilities - Food Technology Teacher
* Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring a balance of theory and hands-on learning.
* Plan and assess lessons in line with national curriculum standards, encouraging creativity and technical skill development.
* Inspire students to understand nutrition, food preparation, sustainability, and the importance of healthy eating.
* Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, ensuring all health and safety protocols are met.
* Contribute to curriculum development within the D&T department and support extracurricular activities where appropriate.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning outcomes.
* Uphold the school's values of ambition, respect, and excellence in every aspect of teaching and learning.

Qualifications and Person Specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A relevant degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Food and Nutrition
* Excellent organisational, practical, and communication skills
* Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
* Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards
