Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Year 4 (1:1 Support)

We are recruiting a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 pupil who presents significant behavioural challenges. This is a vital role where your support will help a child access learning, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with challenging behaviour

  • Implement de-escalation techniques and behaviour strategies

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and external professionals to deliver an individual support plan

  • Encourage engagement with learning and support academic tasks where needed

  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

  • Accurately record behaviour patterns, progress, and interventions

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with SEND or pupils displaying challenging behaviour

  • Team-Teach training (or willingness to undertake training)

  • Calm, patient, resilient, and solution-focused

  • A strong communicator who can work well within a team

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs throughout the school day

  • Committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
