About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a vibrant and inclusive SEN school in Redbridge to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their Primary department.
This school supports pupils aged 4-11 with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, global developmental delay, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).
As a Primary LSA, you will work closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to support children's academic, social, and emotional development-helping every child achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with a range of special needs in class and during interventions
Provide one-to-one and small group support, adapting learning to suit individual needs
Assist with sensory and communication activities as directed by teachers or therapists
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school-based strategies
Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
Contribute to progress tracking, EHCP reviews, and daily communication with staff and parents
About You:
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or nursery setting
A calm, compassionate, and patient approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Able to adapt to a variety of needs and learning styles
Understanding of autism, MLD, or speech and language challenges
Genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
