About the Role:

Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a vibrant and inclusive SEN school in Redbridge to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their Primary department.

This school supports pupils aged 4-11 with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, global developmental delay, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).

As a Primary LSA, you will work closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to support children's academic, social, and emotional development-helping every child achieve their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of special needs in class and during interventions

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, adapting learning to suit individual needs

  • Assist with sensory and communication activities as directed by teachers or therapists

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school-based strategies

  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Contribute to progress tracking, EHCP reviews, and daily communication with staff and parents


About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or nursery setting

  • A calm, compassionate, and patient approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Able to adapt to a variety of needs and learning styles

  • Understanding of autism, MLD, or speech and language challenges

  • Genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
