About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Redbridge to recruit several dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentors to join their team as soon as possible, continuing through to the end of the academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of secondary-aged students who need extra support to engage positively in education. The role involves working closely with young people who may display challenging behaviour or have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive and trusting relationships with students
Support behaviour management strategies and promote emotional regulation
Work one-to-one and in small groups to re-engage pupils with learning
Support teachers in maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive classroom environment
Implement behaviour plans and contribute to wider pastoral support
About You:
Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
Strong communication, patience, and resilience
Ability to de-escalate situations calmly and positively
A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their potential
Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
Previous experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or secondary school setting is desirable
