About the Role:

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a special needs secondary school in Redbridge to appoint a dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team as soon as possible.

The school caters for students aged 11-19 with a variety of needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, social and emotional needs (SEMH), moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and complex communication needs.

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need extra support to access education in a meaningful and engaging way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students on a one-to-one or small-group basis within lessons

  • Help deliver differentiated learning activities under teacher guidance

  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning and social situations

  • Support with communication, behaviour regulation, and emotional wellbeing

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

About You:

  • Previous experience supporting young people with SEN, ideally at secondary level

  • Confident using positive behaviour strategies and communication techniques

  • Adaptable, patient, and able to motivate students of different abilities

  • Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Passionate about supporting students with additional needs to reach their goals
