Inclusion Assistant - Wellingborough

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Inclusion Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Wellingborough area. This role focuses on helping students overcome barriers to learning, promoting inclusion, and ensuring all pupils feel supported, valued, and able to achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in pastoral support, SEN, behaviour mentoring, or youth work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional needs, including those with behavioural, emotional, or social challenges

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions to promote positive engagement

  • Assist in implementing personalised support plans

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with pupils

  • Promote inclusion within the classroom and wider school environment

  • Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies where appropriate

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and nurturing school culture


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school-based or similar)

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Confidence in supporting behaviour, wellbeing, or SEN needs

  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed and feel included

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
