    Are you a skilled British Sign Language (BSL) communicator who is passionate about supporting deaf children in their learning? A warm and inclusive Special School in Haringey is looking for a committed Communication Support Worker to join their team, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day, helping deaf learners grow in confidence, communication, and independence within a nurturing school environment that values collaboration and inclusivity.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide high-quality BSL communication support to ensure deaf pupils can fully access lessons, activities, and social interactions.

    • Support children 1:1 and in small groups, focusing on their academic progress, wellbeing, and emotional development.

    • Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to adapt classroom materials and communication methods.

    • Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and positive engagement in school life.

    • Help pupils develop strong communication skills and confidence in expressing themselves.

    • Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.


    Requirements

    • A recognised BSL qualification (minimum Level 2; Level 3 or above is highly desirable).

    • Experience supporting children or young people with hearing impairments.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.

    • A patient, empathetic, and inclusive approach.
